I found this in the display cabinet at Whitechapel. It started life as a musical handbell. A foundry craftsman fitted a new wooden handle and clapper and it is now a handled bell set on one of my posher plinths.

Dear Fido, just picked up on your blog. Your collection is remarkable. Do you ever come across a Bond bell ( Bond & Sons bellfounders of Burford Oxon, I would be very interested if you did, Henry Bond was my Great Grandfather, I am piecing together the family History,Henry, HenryII and Thomas, but my small collection doesn't have many Bond bells, regards, Philtw.
On pages 66 and 67 there is a history of the Bonds from Henry’s birth in 1829 to the death of Thomas in 1947 and final closure of the foundry. There is also a reference in Church Bells of Oxfordshire by F Sharpe.
You may have all the information already but thought best to mention!
During early life I was known as Fido - so I use that as my internet identity where I can. I am a retired Local Government man who now enjoys a variety of interests. In these blogs I hope to share some of them with anyone with a shared sense of humour who may come across them. But they are mainly for my own interest as a reminder of some of the things I have done in my retirement.
This is one of them.
